MEET THE ARTISAN
TEKURA
Tekura is a design hub which specialises in the design and crafting of contemporary African furniture and decor. Drawing their inspiration from the many beautiful stories from Africa, they produce furniture that reflect true craftsmanship and are inspired by African artistry.
In 2000, TEKURA was born from the deep love and connection of Tekyi and Korankyewaa to their Ghanaian heritage. Their journey started with a humble commitment to showcasing creative design, curating and selling complexly carved decor pieces imbued with the quintessence of Ghanaian tradition.
Today, TEKURA stands as a beacon of creativity and cultural pride, celebrating Ghanaian culture and inspiring a global audience with its authentic and compelling designs. Lead by Audrey Forson, daughter of the founders, as a visionary leader and the Managing Director of TEKURA, Audrey has become a force in the wood industry, earning the nickname “the Carpenter” for skills and dedication.
“My goal is to change the perception that Africa and things from Africa are of inferior quality.”
At the heart of Tekura lay three core values—sustainability, handmade craftsmanship, and design. These values, instilled by its founders, became the guiding principles that shaped the company’s trajectory over the years.
